ASPEN, Colo.โ€”Nov. 14, 2024โ€” Thanks to recent storm cycles that have delivered nearly two feet of early-season snow and favorable temperatures for snowmaking, Aspen Mountain and Snowmass in Colorado will open for the 2024-25 season on Saturday, November 23, five days ahead of their originally scheduled opening.

Details surrounding open terrain, lifts, operations, and lift ticket pricing will be shared next week before Opening Day.

โ€œThanks to the dedication of our hard-working resort teams and the help of some great early season snow, Aspen Snowmass is grateful to welcome another season and celebrate an early opening.”

– Geoff Buchheister, CEO of Aspen Skiing Company

Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk are scheduled to open on December 14.

Uphilling Notice

Uphilling will not be permitted on Aspen Mountain from November 18-23 as teams work on preparation efforts.

Once mountains are open for the season, an uphill pass is required. Uphillers are reminded to stick to designated routes, adhere to all regulations on each mountain, be aware of early season conditions, and yield to on-snow vehicles and snowmaking equipment. Before heading out for the day, check uphill status and route information in the Aspen Snowmass app.
