Vail Raises Single Day Ticket to $160 Single day, walk-up lift tickets have seen another increase in pricing this week at numerous Colorado ski destinations owned by Vail Resorts. Selling at $145 the Wednesday before Christmas, single day tickets to Vail and Beaver Creek are now $159 during the holiday season. These tickets also provide access to Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin, all of which are owned by Vail Resorts. Cat Skiing Guide Takes 400-Foot Ride in Aspen, CO Avalanche: A tour guide with Aspen Mountain Powder Tours is safe after being caught in an avalanche on Thursday morning. The guide was able to stay above the snow, but was carried over 400 feet. Alaskan Snowmobilers Dig Out Moose Caught in Avalanche A moose in Alaska has three snowmobilers to thank for making it to the New Year. On December 28, Marty Mobley, Rob Uphus and Avery Vunichich were snowmobiling at Hatcher Pass, about 55 miles northeast of Anchorage when they passed a small bowl, covered in both ski and moose tracks. Skier Takes 500-Foot Ride in Avalanche in Park City, UT A skier was caught in an avalanche Friday afternoon in the Dutch’s Draw area near Canyons Ski Resort. After triggering the slide up near the “Goal Posts”, he was carried about 500 feet, managing to stay on top of the wash. Buried up to his neck, the skier was dug out by his party, and he luckily walked away unharmed.
