Local media reports that a snowmobiler was killed in an avalanche yesterday inย Squaw Creek area in Lincoln County, WY.
A group of eight snowmobilers triggered and were caught in an avalanche in the area up Greys River Road at around 1:30 pm, reports the Jackson Hole News & Guide.
One of the group, a 55-year-old man, was buried for 20-minutes before he was dug out.ย Attempts to revive him with CPR were unsuccessful.
The avalanche forecast was ‘considerable’ for the area at that time.
21 people have now died in avalanches in the USA in the past 19-days (27 all winter) making this the deadliest avalanche cycle in US recreational history by far.
