
According the the Teton County Sheriffโs Office, a backcountry skier was seriously injured in an avalanche this afternoon.
At 2:21pm, they received a phone call reporting that one skier was caught in an avalanche near No Name Canyon, south of Jackson Hole ski resort.
The other skiers in the party were able to extract the injured skier from the avalanche.
Search and rescue personnel were able to rescue the victim and take him to an ambulance which took him to St. Johnโs Medical Center.

Lieutenant Tom Combs reported that the victim had suffered serious injures.

We were also in the backcountry south of Jackson Hole ski resort today and we saw avalanches in the higher terrain today.
Avalanche danger was rated as CONSIDERABLE today in the Tetons. Considerable is the rating that the most people die under.
