Today was the kind of day I’ve been waiting for. ย A day where the top chair at Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina, Nubes (2,000-vertical-feet), the best chair on the mountain, isย open, running fast, and had a few inches of new snow. ย These are the days that make you better – that make you strong.
We had about 2 inches of new, dense snow on top of a firm layer that kept you on your toes up on Nubes today. ย You could ski fast, you could edge, you could slarve, and you could even take airs.
Today wasย the kind of day whereย you just crank hot laps on Nubes, feel your legs burn, rest on the chair, and do it again and again. ย As many laps as you can as fast as you can. ย That was today. ย Aย fast snow day, a you-can-ski-anywhere-on-the-mountain day, a fun day, a sunny day, a get stronger day, a training day.
(if you’re curious what the best summertime ski training is… ย well… it’s skiing…)
I needed a day like today. ย My skis feel solid under my feet after today. ย Bring on the snow.
Catedral is forecast to get snow the next two days.
living the life Miles. Looks like the snow-forecast.com prediction of 19 feet was off by about 15 feet. Funny, always way too high for South America and way too low in Japan. Looks great, yes Nubes reminds me of Chair 23 at Mammoth except more of it and better. Love that lift. And if it is blowing too hard, you can still hike it.
Making me miss Bariloche!
Looks similar to Mammoth mtn.
