Report from January 7, 2023
Today was a pillow powder day.
We got out early and headed straight for the pillows.
The sun was out a bit in the morning and just there being some blue skies brightened things up and made the skiing better via greatly improved visibility.
It’s record low tide here right now so we tread lightly.
We hit a few pillows at the top to test things and it went pretty well.
From there we hit a couple more slightly bigger pillows.
Then we hit the mini pillows under the cliff.
Then we did a fun powder run to finish it off.
We were saving the bigger pillows for tomorrow…
Then on our way home I saw that RHC had hit the pillows we were saving for tomorrow!
Bastards!
No, it’s all good.
I just assumed no one was gonna ski those pillows today…
Damn.
Well, c’est la vie – although I’m still bummed…
Hopefully, we’ll find some more pillows that haven’t been hit.
And hopefully, it’ll snow and possibly refill those pillows again.
It’s supposed to start snowing moderately again Monday night.
Fingers crossed for some more deep snow and pillows.
In the meantime, we’ll scratch n sniff around and find some soft fun powdery pillows to drop if all goes well.
Thanks, BC!
