Big White Ski Resort in British Columbia celebrated the early opening of its eagerly awaited 61st season on Friday, November 22, breaking records with over 2,500 visitors on opening day.

With a remarkable 41-inch (103-centimeter) alpine snow base and some of the best opening day conditions in decades, Big White proudly kicks off the season as Canada’s first resort to open with 100% natural snow.

With more snow in the forecast, Big White is gearing up to open more lifts and runs throughout opening week.

Big White is offering exceptional discounts from November 22-27 to celebrate the early start. Guests can enjoy:
- 50% off lift tickets (available online and in-person)
- 50% off equipment rentals (in-person only)
- 50% off Ski School group lessons. Lessons must be booked in advance by calling 250-491-6101. They are available for Kids Levels 3-6 and Adult/Youth Levels 1-4.
Additionally, until midnight on November 27, those who still need to purchase a season pass can take advantage of pre-season pricing.
The excitement didn’t stop on Opening Day. Big White hosted a live performance by DJ Switchback on Saturday, November 23, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the base of Ridge Rocket.
Big White Central Reservations is making it even easier for guests to enjoy the early season with exclusive accommodation deals. From November 21-26, save 30% on two or more-night stays across all available accommodations. For shorter stays, enjoy 15% off single-night stays at select properties, including Chateau Big White, Inn at Big White, and White Crystal Inn.
This season also brings exciting upgrades and new features to the resort. The beloved Kids’ Centre is relocating some of its programming to the Village Centre Mall. Retail enthusiasts can explore revamped shopping experiences in the Village, including the return of Peaks boutique, the relocation of Dizzy’s Ski & Board Shop, and a refreshed Mountainside store—all conveniently situated in the Village Centre.
Big White’s dining scene also gets a fresh infusion of flavor. New establishments set to open in December include Toasty Café, offering grab-and-go coffee and pastries in the heart of the Village, and Sopra: Sam’s Italian Kitchen, featuring authentic Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Be sure to mark your calendar for early season highlights, including the Welcome to Winter Celebration on December 3 and the Big Reds Winter Wine Festival from December 6-8. Adding to the magic, Big White is unveiling its new Twinkling Trail, a brand-new light walk experience opening December 14 in the snowshoe trail network. These events and a host of festive activities promise to make the start of this season truly unforgettable.
