WEST LEBANON, NH (Feb 19, 2025)–Blizzard is proud to introduce the redesigned Zero G collection of touring skis, delivering even more control and security in the backcountry. With input from patrollers, athletes, and freeride-oriented backcountry skiers, the construction of new models leans on innovative uses of wood, minimizing the use of carbon fiber to ensure consistent, reliable performance through every turn. With this launch, comes the introduction of new waist widths – 88 and 96, radii concept, and a women’s specific collection designed in partnership with Blizzard’s Women2Women project. The tried-and-true 105 will return with a graphic update and no changes to construction.
To achieve a feeling of smooth, consistent performance through various pitches and conditions, the new Zero G models adapt their Trueblend Wood Core technology to the needs of a backcountry ski and insert an Ash plate underfoot. This strategic use of wood reduces the need of carbon – a material that can cause nervousness in skis. Another key element to the redesign is a new approach to sidecut and radius structure, providing more float and stability in tight, steep terrain.
“The way a ski performs is never the result of just one thing. With the new Zero G models, when you talk about the sum of its parts, the sidecut concept married with the strength profile in tips/tails was what we spent a lot of time testing to get the ideal combination. There is a very clear change to the way these skis feel and perform compared to previous iterations, with the end result aligning more with Blizzard’s pillar of downhill performance,” explained Christian Avery, North American Blizzard Product Manager.
New Construction Highlights
True Blend Tour Wood Core
Engineered for balance, the Trueblend Tour Woodcore 2.0 combines lightweight paulownia with stronger poplar in a precise ratio to achieve smooth skiability and reliable strength. By using less carbon in the construction, but with more poplar in the core, we deliver a ski that’s versatile, playful, and confident in every turn.

Ash Wood Insert
For exceptional strength and smoother control, the Zero G introduces an ash wood insert in the core. Strategically placed underfoot, this material provides torsional rigidity and power transmission where you need it most-without the nervousness of carbon. Ash ensures stability for even the most demanding conditions, while maintaining a playful feel for every adventure.
5 Radius Sidecut
Precision meets versatility with the 5 Radius Sidecut. This innovative design divides the ski into zones with varying radii, creating a unique balance of edge grip, control, and flow. A straighter center radius enhances confidence on steep and icy terrain and adds balance in powder, while smoother transitions toward the tip and tail provide seamless turns and adaptability in all snow conditions. Perfect for technical ascents and dynamic descents alike.
New Women’s Collection
With the new approach to construction marks the introduction of women’s specific models in the 88 and 96. A women’s specific Trueblend wood core and a fiberglass prepreg deliver a 15% softer flex in these models, something all but the most aggressive women skiers favored throughout the testing process.
“Anytime we consider bringing a women’s specific product to market, we go through extensive research to determine if there is a women’s audience that isn’t being served by our unisex offering. After seeing the consistent favorability to the women’s prototypes in blind tests, we knew we could contribute to a better backcountry experience for women with these skis,” said Leslie Baker-Brown, Global Blizzard Tecnica W2W Leader.
