Yesterday was our penultimate day in the BC backcountry.

I decided we should go check out a zone I’d never been before mostly just to look around and see what’s out there.

It was a long walk.

A much longer walk than expected.

  • 4,000 vertical feet
  • 11 miles
  • 7 hours

It took 6 hours to get up on something fun to ski and by then the sun was already going down.

Doh!

Walked all day to ski in the sun and missed the damn sun.

Kinda funny.

Enjoyed the walk and the company very much despite feeling completely spent.

This was backcountry ski day #19 here this month and I’m just about completely outta juice…

The ski down was delightful and we at least got a few turns in the waning sunshine.

One more day out there tomorrow then it’s time to head back down south to the real world.

Thanks so much, BC!
