***10:45am UPDATE: ย Super wet snow out there. ย Large avalanches have happened at Squaw and Alpine. ย We waited from 8:30 until 10am in line for Red Dog at Squaw and got soaked. ย It’s not quite raining, but the wettest snow possible. ย We left at 10am and as of 10:45am nothing has yet opened at Squaw and Alpine is closed for the day due to avalanche danger. ย Squaw will not open today (Exhibition to mid-station only).

California got pounded with snow over the past few days and there’s more on the way. Winter storm warnings are active through tonight and into tomorrow for much of Northern California.
The snow that fell overnight was really wet, so Avalanche Danger in California is HIGH. If you’re skiing today, use extreme caution.
Up to 2 FEET of additional snowfall is forecasted.
