Cerro Catedral, Argentina, Report: Long, Slushy Laps in the Sun With the Legendary Santa Rosa Storm Incoming

Report from August 30, 2024

The sun finally came out and slushed up the mountain on Friday.

We’d been waiting for this day…

We showed up about noon ready for the corn harvest and it didn’t disappoint.

The line was long on Nubes, so we opted for Nire to Lenga laps.

We also snuck in a couple of Nubes laps when the line died down.

Long, rolling groomers on the upper mountain and a slushy bump run on the lower section.

There was no line on either Nire or Lenga, and we ended up lapping variants of these runs for about four hours.

So damn fun to ski soft snow again and charge hard.

It’s always gorgeous when the sun is out here, and Friday was no exception.

Now, we wait for the legendary Santa Rosa storm to hit…

It’s forecast to clobber the mountain with snow tonight.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks, Argentina!
