This past Monday I was fortunate enough to sit down with Incorporate Olympic Valley (IOV) board members Tom Day and Dr. Fred Ilfeld. ย There has been a lot of complex interaction going on between IOV supporters and detractors of late and we’d like to help clear the air. ย KSL/Squaw has officially come out against IOV as well as a new Squaw funded organization called Save Olympic Valley (SOV).
I spoke to Tom & Fred about what IOV stands for, what their goals are, why KSL & SOV are against incorporation, and what their vision for the future of Olympic [Squaw] Valley looks like.
We met up in Tom Day’s home in Squaw Valley and you could feel how much this valley means to both of these men.
We’re confident that this interview will help clear up many of the questions that have been bouncing around about IOV and their motives.
To acquire both sides of this story, we also have formally requested an interview with Andy Wirth. ย Andy and his team have not gotten back to us.
This video interview with Tom Day and Dr. Ilfeld will go live next week on Wednesday at 8:30am.
Please check out our last interview with White Wolf’s Troy Caldwell:
The more I read about this, the more I think that Alpine Meadows had it right when they pulled out of IOV and Fred Ilfeldโs grand experiment. They knew that this quixotic campaign was a terrible idea and would hurt the area in the long run. The Placer County government works just fine and we donโt need an incompetent town government bumbling around and making things worse. By the way, who is going to lead this government? Ilfeld and his cronies? They have already shown that they canโt be bothered to follow the law when the law isnโt to their benefit, such as campaign finance law. I canโt imagine what laws they will break if they actually get their fiefdom.
Come on, we know Andy and Fred want to meet in private.
You’re on your game Clark. Well done.
Thanks Mark. ‘Twas an interesting interview.
