Conditions are beginning to be a little spring-like at the Remarks with a few warm days in a row this week. There’s been no fresh snow for a few days now but the snow is still great overall. The main Curvy Basin is quite firm in the morning but softens nicely on the groomers by about 10, the off-piste takes a little longer but is great to ski after 12.
The parks are skiing really well, especially the stash park. The take offs and landings for all features in the stash have been really well maintained and the riding in there is super fun at the moment. ย A few new beginner features are on the skiers left of Casterway as it curves around under the main terrain park.
The groomers off of Curvy Basin are quite crowded at the moment. If youโre looking for cruisy blue groomers with less people then Calypso in the Shadow Basin and Fall line off of the Sugar Bowl chair are better options.
The Alta Chutes remain cool and dry with no sun affecting them. The snow is in great condition, chalky and smooth. The main chute has very good reliable coverage. The smaller chutes to skiers left have a little more variable coverage.
Shadow Basin is a little more sun affected on the lower half. The natural features in and around the hour glass have melted quite a lot and the take-offs are a bit sketchy. ย Those who hike to ski the upper half will be rewarded with much better snow conditions and few people skiing there.
The homeward runs far skiers left of shadow basin remain open with nice spring like conditions all the way down to the road. The shuttle from the bottom of Homeward back to the main base is running, get in quick though as this area may not be open for much longer.
The forecast for the next week is for slightly warmer days. At this stage there is no snow predicted.
