Copper Mountain, Colorado, has been offering skiing and riding on real snow for 12 consecutive months. It all started with ski race training in October 2023, and the action hasn’t stopped at the Athlete’s Mountain. The resort officially closed for winter on May 12. However, local groups like Team Summit and Vail clubs continued to train on the upper mountain throughout May and June.

The resort hosted Camp Woodward from May through August and maintained a public hike park all summer (June – September). There is still time for skiers and riders to get in their summer turns at Copper. The summer hike park officially closes on Sept. 8, and the final Woodward Summer rail jam event is scheduled for September 6 during the Union Peak festival. Spots areย still available for registration at Coppercolorado.com.

The resort expects to keep the momentum going with plans for ski racers to return to snow for training in October. The resort’s official opening for the winter season is scheduled for November 8, 2024. The ability for skiers and riders to continue their progression on snow year-round showcases Copper Mountainโ€™s commitment to being the Athlete’s Mountain.
