Report from February 19, 2025
The plan was to ski a line up high in powder snow yesterday.
Iโd convinced myself that Iโd found a spot in the alpine right off the lift with good snow that was a long, wide wide-open run.
When I got there I found the snow wasnโt great and it was actually a pretty short run.
We skied it and it was really fun but the snow was a bit wind-pressed.
We continued downhill and Martin showed us a spot where he thought there could be powder in the trees.
He was right!
We skied a great tree run in the bizarre larch trees (pine trees that lose their needles in the winter) and powder snow.
I was stoked.
Finding powder a week after the storm made me quite happy.
We explored the Dolonne Couloir zone and I marveled at the incredible terrain just outside the ski resort boundary.
Weโve got a couple more sunny days before clouds and snow are forecast to show up.
I wanna go back to those treesโฆ
We went to dinner at La Luge and they love Maradonna in there.
They even have a tribute T-shirt to the 1986 โMano de Diosโ goal against England in the quarterfinals of the world cup.
Best burger Iโve had anywhereโฆ
Fingers crossed for a big storm.
Thanks, Italy!
