While not what was predicted the snow storms did deliver a nice refresher to the mountain after a windy, cold and clear week. The low volume of skier and riders meant there was plenty of good pockets after the weekend.ย Although it seems California and Colorado got the brunt of it, our good ol’ PNW snow only needs to half a foot to be good.
Monday started out with nuking cold snow with 100 yrd visibility that opened up later for some great views and nice refresh.ย Theresa, Cori and I smashed out Sunnyside laps in the trees til the sky cleared up a bit and we ventured up Chair 6. Still gotta do a lot of side stepping or down right walk a bit which I chose to do since it was my 1st day on new skis.ย But the snow was great in Powder Bowl and I didn’t mind the quick steps.
A mere 4″ fell overnight so I moved slow getting ready to snowboard today but I was sorely mistaken.ย The snow filled in deep in the trees and sure felt deep! Procourse was fast as every and Green Valley was deep. Finally having strong legs under me, top to bottom runs were the theme of the day til I had to venture in to work. The local crowd was stoked for such a sneaker powder day.
Just sharing again the Updated Uphill Policy now in place. Be careful out there.
