The annual Summer Solstice Sessions isn’t your typical summer celebration; it’s a quirky mashup of winter sports and summer vibes that’s become a favorite for adventurous souls. On Saturday, June 22, Jay Peak Resort will be reopening for one last day of skiing and boarding until winter.
The event features a terrain park, a music festival, and a mix of activities for all ages. At the core of the Summer Solstice Sessions is the Solstice Terrain Park. Leveraging cutting-edge snow preservation techniques, Jay Peak ensures that winter snow is meticulously stockpiled and insulated to endure the warmer months. As the summer solstice approaches, this snow is expertly transformed into a pristine terrain park, featuring jumps, rails, and boxes. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy an exceptional winter sports experience in the middle of summer, thanks to a convenient moving carpet for easy access.
Tickets to ride the terrain park will be $50 for one hour or $100 for all four hours of riding. With each ticket purchased it comes with free access to the concert at the Stateside Amphitheater starting at 7 p.m.
The Summer Solstice transcends the slopes, providing a holistic summer experience. Headlining the 2024 lineup is Dopapod. The Boston rock band promises an electric and dynamic sound, blending elements of jazz, funk, and rock.
