Midwestern and Eastern ski resorts made history during the 17-18 season.ย We all know the legendary snowfall stats of Western resorts, but let’s put that aside for a moment and give some love to the East Coast.ย While you may not see 4th of July skiing at any of these resorts, skiing into May is a real treat in this region. Lutsen Mountain, MN
- Open until May 6th
- Open for skiing in May for only the second time in its 69 year history

Granite Peak Ski Resort, WI
- Open until May 6th
- Longest season in their 80 year history
- 700′ vertical allows for some of the most extensive skiing in the area

Bristol Mountain Ski Resort, NY
- Open until May 1st
- This year marked the 1st time in their 54 year history that guests were able to ski in May.
- Spring skiing with highs in the mid-70’s–wait, are we talking about Cali?

- Biggest snowfall: 12″
- Max summit depth: 60″
Whiteface Mountain, NY
- Open until May 5th
- Broke the previous record of May 1st with nine trails and top-to-bottom skiing.
- Home of the greatest vertical drop in the East.
- Total snowfall days: 63
- Biggest snowfall: 28″
- Max summit depth: 45″
Boyne Mountain, MI
- Open until May 6th
- Won the bet to see which Michigan resort could stay open the longest
- This wasn’t the first or last year Boyne has pushed their closing into May
- Total snowfall days: 40
- Biggest snowfall: 20″
- Max summit depth: 58″
Mount Bohemia, MI
- Open until April 29th
- Experienced their fifth snowiest April on record
- Known as the Midwest’s powder mecca
- Total snowfall days: 21
- Biggest snowfall: 8″
