Falls Creek in the state of Victoria (โVICโ), Australia, has revealed its events calendar for the 2023 winter season. Events range from Gay Ski Week and Womenโs Programs to Pond Skim and Fireworks Fiestas.
With further snow forecasted for this weekend and snowmaking commencing soon, the Falls Creek community is thrilled to welcome guests back for the winter season ahead. Kicking off on Kingโs Birthday long-weekend on June 10, 2023, opening weekend will pack a punch with the annual street party and Saturday night fireworks to celebrate the beginning of this yearโs season.
From racing events to night skiing and boarding, fireworks, womenโs programs to Gay Ski Week and more, there is something for everyone this season at Falls Creek.ย Twilight Tuesdays lets kids and families rule the roost in a street party with toasted marshmallows, outdoor games and a special appearance from Pete the Snow dragon, while Thursday nights during peak season bring a Firework Fiesta to the village with a magical show under the stars.
Ski and Snowboard Demo Days offer guests the chance to try before they buy, providing the opportunity to take the latest and greatest equipment for a test run before they commit to spending the rest of the season together. Snowboards available include Burton, Nitro, Salomon, Gnu, Capita, Oakley and Smith. Skis available include Volkl, Atomic, Salomon and Black Crows.
Gay Ski Week will be the chance to celebrate with a winter pride week at the village while The Wombatโs Rambler night race is one of the longest ski races in Australia โ and the only race under lights โ will get hearts racing and crowds excited.
Night skiing will be available every Wednesday and Saturday from June 24 until the end of August, then Twilight Skiing from September onwards, while Mimโs Womenโs Program runs across multiple dates and is designed exclusively for women to hone their skills, overcome fears in a comfortable and supportive environment led by women, all while making new friends and having a blast. The season rounds out with the Pond Skim where participants race to see who can make it the furthest!
