It should come as no surprise that Aspen, Colorado, produces some incredible young winter sports athletes. Three examples at the top of our heads are Gretchen Bleiler, Alex Ferreira, and Torin Yater-Wallace, all of which accomplished X Games podiums at a young age. These kids have great access to incredible terrain, both in-bounds and out-of-bounds. Aspen Skiing Company intends to keep this tradition rolling by offering Free X Games tickets to local Roaring Fork Valley teens. Hopefully, this will serve as an inspiration to young athletes and showcase what is possible through hard work and dedication, while easing the burden of scraping together enough cash to make it to the show.
A limited number of tickets will be given, free of charge, to these local shredders. Each day, 500 free tickets will be available to local high school students, according to The Aspen Times. Students are eligible to get multi-day or single-day general admission event tickets, at no cost. Local students must show up on the day of the event, with valid school identification in hand, securing access to competition events and daily live music concerts. I am sure these youths will jump at this incredible opportunity. This year a three-day GA ticket will cost $153. Single-day tickets for Thursday only will be $50, and Friday or Saturday only will be $60.
Aspen Skiing Company will go one further, offering locals who are not enrolled in school a 50% discount. Subsequently, helping to keep local stoke alive for this timeless tradition that is genuinely Aspen. Event dates will be January 23 to 25 2024, and listed below is a breakdown of events each day. This year’s music offerings include Deadmau5 and Big Gigantic on Saturday. Friday’s music will be Illenium and Tessla, and Daily Bread plays on Thursday.
