Brought to you by Grand Targhee Resort
Report from March 12, 2022
There’s been plenty to smile about at Targhee over the past few days. And the resort’s famous Vibe is in full bloom.
Apparently Ma’ Nature has teamed with Old Man Winter, and the pair have recently laid a healthy fresh layer of fun over the Teton Mountains. In fact, we woke to a couple more modest-but-welcome inches just this morning.
As has been the case all season, the best of the snow pack is found hanging out on north-facing aspects but don’t overlook those happy patches hiding in-between the trees or in often-overlooked gullies. The goods are out there and waiting for those willing to look, that’s one of our favorite things about the ‘Ghee–it’s liable to surprise ya.
The climate rollercoaster we’ve already been reading so much about is present (and persistent) in the Tetons as well. The past few days experienced record low temperatures for the month of March, only to see those degrees up-swing toward the balmy-mild today.
But don’t look now, another pressure system swap is in the works, (hopefully) hitting Targhee with another sugar stack as soon as tomorrow, and stretching into the coming week.
In the meantime, it’s wide turns under big sun at Grand Targhee, and both seem to suit the ski-faithful just fine for now.
