I made the voyage out to Grand Targhee ski area, WY/ID yesterday for the very first time.
Victor is cute, Driggs is quaint, and Targhee was dreamy.
Sunshine, warm temps, powder, great groomers, fun terrain, big cliffs, no lines, live music, good food, cold beers, and lots of people smiling.
I couldn’t get over the good vibe of this place. ย Everyone was stoked. ย People were getting the experience they came for.
Targhee has 3 lifts that all take you to great skiing and riding and one smaller lift for beginners/intermediates.
Right away, we made the hike up to cat skiing terrain and the skiing was fun. ย Smooth, about 4 inches of powder on top of a firmer layer, and fun. ย We skied fun pow up top and hot pow down low and ended up in a little basin that we hiked out of back to the Sacajawea lift.
We ran into some Frenchies and Argie on the top of the hike who were shirtless and stoked. ย Happy people everywhere.
I loved the Dreamcatcher lift. ย Directly from the very bottom to the very top of the resort.
The apres ski scene was popping with a live band at the Trap and not a table unoccupied outside of the Trap nor Branding Iron.
I really dug Targhee. ย This place holds the soul of skiing.
