video from Hotham today
Hotham ski resort in Australia has seen 95cms (37″) of snow since Friday and the place is looking fine.
It’s still snowing…
“Crikey! I hope you have saved something in the tank as this could be the day of the decade?? Wait for it….we have had 46 cm of cold dry snow in the last 24 hrs with more than half of that coming overnight and it is still snowing heavily this morning. The temp is around minus 4 and should stay about that all day and the wind is a strong northwesterly which will keep filling in those tracks while the snow falls. Blue Ribbon is somewhere else that has filled in and will be up and running this morning once the final preparations have been made. Stop reading my waffling? Grab your fattest skis or powder board and get out there! Everyone is working flat out to get lifts and areas open this morning but there may be a few delays with some of them. Stay out of the extreme area until the patrol have finished avalanche control work. Have an absolute ripper day. Hey Pantxo…thanks for bringing all this snow! Nb. The road clearers are doing everything they can to clear the road on the Harrietville side and will open it as soon as possible.
Cheers Bill”
