We got to the Jackson Hole, WY tram today at 8am and waited for first tram knowing full well that it was going to open late due to HIGH avalanche danger at all elevations (a rare event).
It didn’t open until 12:35pm and we stuck it out with about 80 other powder crazed humans.
Maybe we shouldn’t have waited especially since our buddy, Grant, skied all over the resort then came to the tram, waited for 20 minutes and got on the first tram with us…
It was worth it, though.
Our first lap was silly. ย We were screaming. ย We couldn’t get over how good and long and soft and powdery it was. ย Pillow popping and mini drops everywhere had us hooting and laughing at full volume.
Howling wind on top, perfect buffed powder in the middle, and deep bouncy snow down low.
Our second lap was just about as fun as the first.
When we got back to the tram after our 2nd lap it was about 2:45pm and they had just closed it along with all the lifts except theย Bridger Gondola, Teton lift, Teewinot lift, and Union Pass chair.
We started hiking up to the Bridger Gondola when we stopped, looked at each other and said: ย “Nachos”.
We skied down to the Mangy Moose, ate nachos, drank beer and listen to a killer band called “Bog Dog”. ย These guys absolutely shredded bluegrass covers of Pink Floyd, The Band, and more and I did not want to leave…
Jackson Hole is skiing great right now and they’ve already seen 282″ of snow this season. ย

Miles,
Great making a few turns in Jackson with you and your friend. Looking forward to the day we do that again.
Me, too, Rob. Lets do Jackson again, soon!
Sorry to see you go. What happened with your annual Japan trip?
Bob! Was pouring rain in Hakuba when I was supposed to go… Snowing now tho! They’ll need a lot to get the snowpack in.
The band is called Bog Dog!
Thanks, dude! I must have hear him wrong when he shouted it too me. I’ll fix now. Thanks again.
