Maybe calling today a “sleeper” powder day is a bit too much. It’s simpler than that: there just aren’t anymore people here at Jackson Hole, WY…
Jackson Hole closes for the season this Sunday and there haven’t been any crowds here at all for a while. It’s absolutely dreamy…
video of airing out of Central Couloir today
We woke up today and saw that Jackson Hole was reporting 5″ of new snow. We threw on ski clothes, grabbed delicious breakfast sandwiches at Sweet Cheeks Meats, and charged up to the hill.
We got 3rd tram and there were only about 40 people on it.
We ran up Cody Peak and were the 3rd and 4th people into Central Couloir. Central was dreamy. Good snow with a bit of chalk underneath. Greg skied it fast. Real fast… You don’t have to air out at all anymore but you can still take a 15-20′ air out if you want. The landing was $$$$.
From Central up over to No Name and No Name was dreamy. You can even ski some ‘new’ lines that don’t generally go through the lower cliff band.
From No Name to The Haunting which wasn’t haunting at all. Mellow chute to an open powder field to a wide pinch with the option for a nice 15-20 foot air out with a very soft landing.
Today was a really great day in Jackson.
Teton Tiger apres ski food didn’t hurt the mood one bit…
what a great day today, total teton classic
