The Polish ski mountaineer Andrzej Bargiel, 30 will go down in history as the first person to ski down K2 (28,251-feet). It was his second attempt to ski down the planet’s second tallest mountain, known as ‘the savage mountain’.
He reached the summit of K2 at 11:30 am on Monday 23rd July 2018 and returned to Base Camp at around 7:30 pm local time.
This awesome video courtesy of Red Bull offers a very short glimpse of the effort taken to climb up, then some of his views, and the terrain and conditions, on the way down. Hopefully more footage will emerge as the days pass, but for now, this is breathtaking.
