Report and all photos from February 19th, 2019
Lake Tahoe just saw a 105″ storm.
Lake Tahoe has seen a record 246″ of snow in February so far.
Tahoe has seen over 500″ of snowfall already this season.
Yesterday, we hiked up and skied a mountain the grows directly out of Lake Tahoe.
This was a zone that is only really skiable in the biggest snow years in Tahoe:ย 2011, 2017, 2019.
The views, all day, were simply stunning.
You start and finish the day here on the beach.
The snow is still deep, dry, and fluffy in Tahoe due to the cold temperatures that we continue to see daily.
You know you’re in a special place when you ski from a daring summit to a cushy beach against the bluest water on Earth and there are one-horse open sleighs ripping around the beach full of giggling children.
Tahoe is pretty tough to beat…
Especially this year.
We’ll let the photos do the talking on this one.

FORECAST:
Note:ย NOAA and others are currently talking about a ferocious Atmospheric River storm that may impact Tahoe with enormous amounts of snow early next week…
“Longer range models (ECMWF shown here) leaning towards another atmospheric river set up next weekโฆ One moderate prolonged pattern early in the week and perhaps another stronger one Thursday into Friday. Stay tuned.” – Rob Mayeda, NBC Bay Area, 2/20/19
