Unseasonably warm temperatures are in the forecast for the remainder of the week, where the high temperatures in South Lake Tahoe are expected to reach into the mid 50s. The forecast also includes sunny conditions through the weekend and no precipitation.
It is expected that the beginning of February may also result in record temperatures, which is bad news for the snowpack.
The first week or so of February 2018 will likely be the warmest on record with an extended period of daytime temperatures 10-20ยฐ above average.
Of course this will not be good for the current near record low snowpack (30-50% in the Sierra). pic.twitter.com/bP7SvzIRWz
