Tim Fees and Matty Anderson got after the fresh powder in Mammoth, CA yesterday.

They found 24″ of snow at 10,000′ and 60″ of snow at 11,300′.

Mammoth ski resort is scheduled to open on November 10th.

“After the recent storm cycle, we knew that the high terrain along the crest would have some deep snow. With a bonus (and unexpected) few inches overnight on Halloween, the table was set for an awesome day in the backcountry.

The zone of choice were some farther out lines along the Mammoth Crest that are a bit more accessible because the road to the Lakes Basin is still opened. We skinned in to the zone, booted and skied two chutes, and it felt like mid-winter!

Snow depth was between about 24″ at 10,000 feet and about 60″ at 11,300 feet. Surface conditions were POWDER!” – Tim Fees/Gnarbox, yesterday
