Brought to you byย Mammoth Mountain
Report from May 29, 2021
Today was our penultimate day of the 2020/21 North American ski season.
I got to ski with my dad today – which hasn’t happened in a few years.
We showed up at 8am and the snow was perfect.
Fast, fun, and already soft.
Scotties off Chair 23 was just about perfect on our first run.
Dad dropped in and spun his signature windmills down the hill.
Spin left, turn, spin right, turn, spin left, turn…
Backward skiing is his forte.
We slowly rolled around and did goofy skiing all over Chair 23, the gondola, & Chair 5.
Dad skied until about 10:30 and then I met up with some buddies and ripped around.
The morning was fast, the afternoon was slower.
Lower mountain snow was sticky in spots, but the upper mountain, and anywhere with some steepness still skied well.
We even skied the wiggle and it was fun.
We skied until 1pm and then drove up to Mono Lake and tripped around the tufa formations.
If you’ve not been to the Mono Lake tufa, it’s an amazing place on Earth.
Tomorrow is our last ski day of the season…

The groovin’ moves that Geezer’s got
Must make the Babes a little hot
They seek a spin
Which ain’t no sin
And he’ll give ’em .. his best shot.
