Mammoth Mountain, CA Condition Report
July 1st, 2017

“Skiing in July, how fun is that? ย Very fun in fact.
The lifts opened atย 7:30ย and we went straight up to cornice which was firm and groomed but not icy. Next was top to bottom laps on climax to broadway – there was a short window where the bottom was perfectly carvable. But it started to get a little thick and sticky, so we headed up to chair 23. The drop out side was perfect with soft snow and spaced out low bumps. The wipe out side was nice but choked with rocks in the narrow sections. We lapped until it got too thick, aboutย noon.
Throughout the day, everyone was stoked with the perfect weather and the shear fact that we were skiing in July. Fourth of July spirit was oozing out all over.
Mammoth is still holding a ton of snow. I’m planning to come back in August when the days are shorter.
