At the end of every season, a spring Mammoth Mountain trip is called for.ย We left Donner Summit, CAย early on Saturdayย morningย and showed up for some afternoon fun.ย  Friday night brought low temperatures, skiffs ofย new snow, and highย winds, so we took our time and let things heat up.

Lower aspects were perfect creamy corn snow– always a spring favorite.ย  Steep wind buffed bowls at theย upper elevationsย made for a wild ride from top to bottom.ย ย We cruisedย aroundย for the rest of the day throughย fun conditions all over the mountain.ย Mammoth still had great coverage with several lifts to keep us busy.ย  There is still plenty of good skiing to be had here.

When the clouds started to roll in, we ventured to Convict Lake and extended our day with a warm sunny hike along the lake.ย  It’s impossible not to love the Eastern Sierras.
