A number of snow and low-temperature records were broken this weekend in Missoula, western Montana.
The National Weather Service in Missoula said the snowstorm on Saturday was the biggest October snowstorm in over 100 years with 13.8″ recorded at the airport, theย eight greatest two-day total (regardless of month) and second snowiest October on record.
“These records go back 100 years. The previous record cold was four degrees below zero for the entire month of October and that was set back in 1917.”

The following day, the mercury dropped to a low of -7ยบF, setting even more climate records.ย It was the earliest negative reading, the coldest October temperature ever recorded, and the record low for the day, October 25th.
