Monarch Mountain, Colorado, is preparing to launch its 85th ski season on Friday, November 22.
โEach year, our goal is to start the lifts as early as possible, and thanks to Mother Nature and the relentless efforts of our incredible mountain operations team, a November opening is happening!โ
– Christopher Haggerty, General Manager at Monarch Mountain.
The ski area plans to run the Pioneer, Garfield, Tumbelina, and Caterpillar lifts. It is evaluating conditions and will release its grooming report at 6 a.m. on opening day.
Monarch Mountain has expanded its ski patrol clinic this season to enhance on-mountain safety, increased its grooming and maintenance capacity, and improved several internal venues in anticipation of the future No Name development. Monarch will continue to work on the expansion efforts throughout the season and into the following summer, with a planned opening date during the 2025-26 ski season.
Guests can start their day with a hearty breakfast at the Gunbarrel Cafeteria, open seven days a week. Season passholders receive a 20% discount at the cafeteria, making fueling up for a great day on the mountain even easier.
Opening day hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the Rental Shop, Sidewinder Saloon, Java Stop, Ski and Ride School, and Elation Sports all set to welcome guests. The Kaleidoscope Tubing Park will remain closed now.
