35-year-old professional skier Matthias Giraud just set a new world record by making the highest ever ski BASE jump, taking off from a cliff 14,301-feet up on Mont Blanc in the French Alps.

Giraud has also previously BASE jumped off the Eiger in 2010 and the Matterhorn in 2011. He began his descent from the 15,781-footย summit on Monday, skied about 1,500-feet vertical before skiing off a cliff and deploying his parachute.
