On Sunday, aย moose was rescued from an Idaho basement after falling through a window well and pushing its way into the basement of a home, according to WREG-TV. The family was caught off-guard when they found the moose in their basement during the middle of the night. Law Enforcement Officers and Idaho Fish and Game officers attempted to move the animal upstairs starting around 2:30am.
โThey put some furniture and mattresses around the room to kind of keep the moose enclosed in one area of the basement. Fortunately, she wasnโt hurt and remained pretty calm,โ Lt. Steve England of the Hailey Police Department toldย EastIdahoNews.com.
Around 5:30am, a Fish and Game Officer from Twin Falls arrived and was able to tranquilize the moose. Then, eight officers carried the 600 pound animal upstairs and out the door. About 15 minutes later, the moose woke up and ran away unharmed. The animal spent about 3 hours in the Idaho basement before being removed. Recent snowfall likely influenced the moose to move closer to town looking for food.
Homeowner Julie Emerick referred to the moose as “the most polite, gracious beast.”
Most gracious, polite beasts don’t crap all over the carpet.
Keep building homes unnecessarily at wilderness doorstep a$$holes.
