The Eastern Alaska Range Avalanche Center is reporting avalanches today.
Heads up, people.
WIND LOADING ON NORTH EAST ASPECTS!
“Up to 12” new snow at 6000′. Strong wind loading on NE aspects. Two natural avalanches were seen and one human triggered. All were on NE aspects. The biggest of them is shown in the photo.
Riding conditions were good, wind crust was very noticeable on skis/board.
I took some snow pack depth measurements and uploaded them onto mountain hub.”
