NOAA: Avalanche Dangers Rise As Snow Continues To Pound Montana | Total Snow Accumulations of 10-20″ Through Friday

The National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm Warnings & Winter Weather Advisories for Montana.ย They are in effect through Friday Afternoon. Heavy snowfall is expected to impact the area throughout that time and as a result, avalanche danger in the backcountry is expected to rise.

Mixed precipitation is likely to fall in central Montana throughout the morning, but it’s all expected to turn to snow by the time the afternoon rolls around.
