NOAA is forecasting 12-25″ of snowfall in the higher elevations of Jackson Hole ski area in Wyoming for the next 3 days.ย The heaviest snow is forecast to come down on Tuesday.
Snow has already begun falling at Jackson Hole (see image at bottom of post) and snow levels are forecast to drop to valley floors by Monday.
ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE DOWN
TO THE BASIN FLOORS WITH 3 TO 6 INCHES POSSIBLE ABOVE 5000 FEET AND
5 TO 10 INCHES WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS OF A FOOT OR MORE ACROSS THE
HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE TETONS AND YELLOWSTONE PARK. HEAVIEST
SNOWFALL IS CURRENTLY ON TRACK FOR MID-DAY TUE THRU EARLY EVENING
TUE. HOWEVER...EVEN OVERNIGHT TUESDAY COULD SEE ANOTHER COUPLE OF
INCHES OUT WEST...WITH 2 TO 5 INCHES ACROSS THE BIGHORN MOUNTAINS.
WILL EVALUATE AND ADJUST SNOW AMOUNTS OVER AT LEAST ANOTHER FCST
PERIOD BEFORE POSSIBLY ISSUING ANY WATCHES/ADVISORIES.

NOAA has released a Special Weather Statement and a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Jackson Hole area but not winter storm advisories just yet.
SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT:
A DEEPENING PACIFIC TROUGH WILL BE APPROACHING THE ROCKY
MOUNTAINS THROUGH EARLY THIS WEEK. THIS WEATHER SYSTEM WILL
PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF SNOWFALL DURING THIS TIME FRAME.
LIGHT SNOWFALL WILL BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD LATER TODAY. THEN
AFTER A SHORT RESPITE FROM THE SNOWFALL TONIGHT...SNOWFALL WILL
INCREASE ONCE AGAIN BY MONDAY MORNING...BECOMING HEAVY AT TIMES.
THIS SNOWFALL SHOULD CONTINUE MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. SNOW TOTALS
BY LATE TUESDAY WILL RANGE FROM 5 TO 10 INCHES WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS
