NOAA is calling for 2-5″ at Jackson Hole ski resort and more in Wyoming today and tonight.ย 

Jackson has already gotten snow today as you can see in the image above.

Jackson Hole’s opening date is November 25th and it’s never too early to start piling up that natural snow.

“An upper level disturbance will push across the state today through Friday. This will initially bring rain and snow above 7000 feet today across the west and south. Rain with snow down to 5500 feet will then be possible across most areas tonight into Friday morning. Light accumulations will be possible above 7000 feet, with little expected at the lower elevations. Precipitation will then diminish Friday afternoon, with seasonal temperatures expected.” – NOAA, Riverton, WY

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK-ABSAROKA MOUNTAINS-
TETON AND GROS VENTRE MOUNTAINS-JACKSON HOLE-
WIND RIVER MOUNTAINS WEST-WIND RIVER MOUNTAINS EAST-STAR VALLEY-
SALT RIVER AND WYOMING RANGES-UPPER GREEN RIVER BASIN FOOTHILLS-
INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...LAKE...MAMMOTH...OLD FAITHFUL...
JACKSON...AFTON...ALPINE...STAR VALLEY RANCH...THAYNE...PINEDALE

...WIDESPREAD SNOW TODAY AND TONIGHT...

A COLD FRONT WILL LOWER SNOW LEVELS TO VALLEY FLOORS TODAY AND
TONIGHT. SNOW BELOW 6500 FEET WILL HAVE A HARD TIME ACCUMULATING AS
THE SNOW WILL BE VERY WET...AND COULD BE MIXED WITH RAIN AT TIMES
DURING THE DAY TODAY...AND GROUND SURFACES ARE STILL WARM.
HOWEVER...EXPECT SLICK ROADS IN SPOTS AND RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER
CONDITIONS LATER TONIGHT AS THE FRONT SETTLES IN.

SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE LESS THAN AN INCH IN MOST LOW
ELEVATION AREAS WITH VALLEY LOCATIONS IN YELLOWSTONE AND AROUND
THE JACKSON VALLEY WITH THE BEST CHANCE OF ACCUMULATING A
MEASURABLE AMOUNT OF SNOW. 2 TO 4 INCHES OF WET SNOW IS EXPECTED
OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES...WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE IN THE TETONS
AND HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF YELLOWSTONE.

RAIN AND SNOW WILL CLEAR FROM WEST TO EAST DURING THE MORNING
HOURS ON FRIDAY. ANOTHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO YELLOWSTONE AND THE
TETONS FRIDAY NIGHT...DELIVERING ADDITIONAL SNOW TO THOSE AREAS
AND PERIODS OF STRONG WIND ELSEWHERE.
