The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for California.ย It’s in effect from this afternoon – early Thursday morning.
High winds and heavy snowfall are forecasted to impact the area throughout that time.
California:
- 1-4 FEET of Snow Today – Thursday Morning
“A winter storm is expected to impact the Sierra and western Nevada region starting Tuesday and lasting through at least Thursday. Heavy wet snow for the mountains, gusty winds, and valley rain showers are expected during this time before transitioning to colder, fluffier snow showers on Friday as a cold front passes. Snow levels will vary mainly between 5,500-6,500โ (Tahoe Basin) and 6,500โ-7,000โ (Mono county), before falling to western Nevada valley floors Friday morningย as a cold front sweeps through.”

Snow levels will start out around 4,500ft – 6,000ft before dropping down to 3,000ft – 4,500ft on Thursday.
The 6-10 day outlook calls for above average precipitation and below average temperatures in California.
