For the first time since 2017, Michigan’s beautiful Norway Mountain will be up-and-running for the 2024-25 season. After new owner Justin Hoppe announced its return, Norway Mountain became the 39th ski resort in the Mitten State, making it the state with the second most ski areas only behind New York. ย
While it is definitely a small ski area, it will be a perfect resort for families living in the Midwest to come and have an excellent time and to catch some breathtaking views. Norway Mountain is just a short drive from Norway, Michigan, a little town in the Upper Peninsula with a population of just 2,873. This welcoming mountain is sure to be a great place for Michiganders to come and check out a newly renovated resort that has been missed for the past seven years.
Norway Mountain will reopen with 17 trails across 500 feet of vertical across 186 acres of skiable terrain. The lifts will include one triple chair, two double chairs, and three surface lifts. Its small size makes it perfect for hot laps as well as makes it an ideal place for new skiers and snowboarders to get their first turns in. Norway Mountain also added multiple new snowmaking guns, which will help the resort battle the ever-inconsistent Michigan weather.
Michigan has yet to see its first heavy snowfall of the year but rest assured, the skiers and riders are ready, and so is Norway Mountain, with lift passes available for purchase now. A day pass is $69 for adults and $49 for children. Season passes are only $389 for adults and $349 for children. And, to make a Norway Mountain trip even more enticing, children under 8 and adults over 75 ski for free!
In other exciting news coming from ย Norway Mountain, the resort joined the Indy Pass. Starting this season, Indy Pass holders can experience Norway Mountainโs incredible slopes, breathtaking views, and family-friendly atmosphere with two days of free skiing or riding.
