Report from February 12 & 13, 2024
On Tuesday, Connery & Fox & Josh Gold got weird in the terrain park at Palisades Tahoe, CA.
I was too tired to even ski that day.
I tried to ski and tried to jump but it wasn’t working.
I went home and napped while they went off.
I rested, ate a ton, and quaffed water to my limit.
Fast forward to yesterday and I was feeling it.
I wanted those park jumps.
360ยบ to backflip, please.
The weather wasn’t feeling it.
Cold, cloudy, windy, and just kinda nasty out.
Normally, I’d never ski park jumps in mid-winter, especially when it was cold and dark and windy.
But I was already too fired up.
I pushed for the park and Fox and Connery were down.
Connery was easily cleaning super stylie cork 3s, cork 5s, and backflips whilst legendary videologist Scott Gaffney filmed.
Fox laced a flat spin to backflip run and was pumped.
I put together my 360ยบ to backflip run 4 times – none of which were gorgeous like Fox & Connery’s runs, but I was stoked.
The wind kicked up yet another notch at about 1:30pm and sent us packing.
What a stellar mid-winter park day!
Only the 3rd time I’d ever hit the park mid-winter.
20mph winds, frigid temps, cloudy skies, and park skis – what could go wrong!?
Luckily nothing did go wrong and he had a banner day.
I’m now sitting on my couch watching it snow and the forecast is for quite a bit of snow by tomorrow morning.
Winter is coming alive in Lake Tahoe.
Thanks, California!
