Report from February 8, 2024
Today was a good day.
49″ of snow in the past seven days helped it be so.
Nervous, laying on the heated pavement outside the funitel at 8 am.
Surrounded by anxious friends.
Watching the webcams as ski patrol bombed.
“What slid?”
“Everything…”
But it wasn’t true.
The Palisades were good.
Owen Leeper and Connery Lundin threw scary backflips into Main Chute.
I skied a mini double drop into Main Chute.
Mainline Pocket was good.
The crew skied The Spitter, Diagonal, Far Right Rock, Banana, and more.
I skied The Spitter & Far Right Rock.
Granite Chief Peak was good.
The crew skied Patrol Chute, Treeboys, Plake Line, and more.
I skied Patrol Chute.
Then the clouds rolled in about noon or maybe even earlier.
Foggy, low viz, tough to ski.
Fox and I bailed to KT-22 for a lap and called it a day before 1 pm.
Felt good to rest…
Tomorrow will be another fun and hopefully sunny day at Palisades.
The crew here is so fun to ski with.
They push me and inspire me to ski at a higher level each and every day.
Thanks, California!
