Report from November 29, 2024

After skiing in the Little Cottonwood Canyon, UT, backcountry yesterday I zipped back to Park City Mountain Resort and met up with my wife for a few afternoon runs.

We skied the Park City side (the Canyon side is open with the Saddleback chairlift).

Three chairlifts are open on the Park City side:

  • Payday
  • First Time
  • Three Kings

We lapped Payday as that chair has the most vert and the meat of the skiing.

Three runs are open off Payday, and we chose the skier’s right run every time.

It was in the sun, had some good steeps, and was a damn fun run.

I have brand-new skis, and the sharp edges are a godsend.

It’s firm out there and gonna get firmer daily as there is no new snow in the forecast.

Get out there and enjoy it before it gets even more scrapped down and compressed.

Be smart, aware, and safe in the flats before the chair as three different runs converge there, and it’s a bit busy.

One neat thing Epic Pass is doing right now is a digital pass on your phone.

You don’t need your physical season pass to get on the chair.

Thanks, Utah!
