Perisher Resort in New South Wales, Australia, announced this morning that they will be opening this Saturday, a full week earlier than planned.

The resort has had snow guns blazing since early May as well as receiving consistent snowfall over the last few weeks culminating in 8″ last night. Three feet are expected to fall this week.
Cerro Catedral in Argentina opened for a weekend at the end of April, but the southern hemisphere season will begin in earnest this week when Perisher opens, along with resorts on Mount Ruapehu in New Zealand, and Lesotho in South Africa.
