Copper Mountain, Colorado, experienced the first snow dusting of the season in the night from September 4 to 5. The upper mountain received a nice covering of snow from Wednesday nightโs storm, as did the surrounding peaks on the Ten Mile Range.
Despite receiving the first snow of the new season, Copper Mountain actually still has people skiing and riding on last seasonโs snow. The Summer Hike Park has held up all summer long, and the resort has had athletes training and enjoying the snow for 12 straight months for the first time ever! The Hike Park will host one final rail jam event on Friday, September 6, during the Union Peak Festival, before wrapping up operations on September 8.
Copper Mountain is only a few weeks out from turning on its snow guns, just in time for race training to begin in October. Copper will officially open for the 2024-25 winter season on November 8.
