Powder Mountain, Utah, is devoted to protecting the experience that has always made Powder unique with no mega pass madness, short lift lines, and a devoted fan base. The resort is located in the Wasatch Mountains about an hour north of Salt Lake City. It is considered one of Americaโs most unique ski experiences, with limited ticket sales, no canyon traffic, and 5,000+ acres of terrain, and now is the only major U.S. resort to offer pass holder-exclusive weekends.
Passholder Weekends
In February, Powder Mountain introduced four pass-holder weekends to enhance the experience and provide exceptional value for the core Powder community. The pass-holder weekends were a huge hit, debuting with special events, uncrowded slopes, and an elevated weekend vibe. Peak weekends are now crowd-free for the core Powder community.
โI was reminded of how Powder Mountain was in the โ80sโextremely uncrowded and friendly.โ
-Loyal Passholder
The weekends included eight Powder keg dance parties, 1,100+ event participants, 10 passholder events, 79 inches of snowfall, and 250 prizes awarded to passholders. Demo days, treasure hunts, pancake breakfasts, and a passholder-exclusive rail jam showcased the spirit of Powder in stark contrast to the crowds at neighboring Utah resorts.
Given the success and feedback from passholders, you can expect more of the same in 2026; weโre told the wheels are already turning on programming for next season, with big plans in store.
โObviously, the powder and no lift lines, but I also enjoyed the added fun from the events every weekend!โ

The new passholder model is not the only way Powder Mountain improves the skier experience. This past year, they installed a new Skytrac fixed grip quad chairlift on Lightning Ridge, which accesses more steep and deep terrain with challenging chutes and wide open bowls. This was their first new lift in over a decade!
The resort has also brought back terrain parks for the first time since 2020. There are two terrain parks with various sizes of rails, boxes, jumps, snow, and natural features.
Between avoiding traffic, a lack of crowds, all types of ski terrain, and now their unique passholder exclusive weekends, Powder Mountain is here to keep the core culture of snowsports alive and well. It is one of the only ski areas that allows guests to truly escape the masses. Now is the time to take advantage of Powder Mountainโs unique ski experience, buying your 2025-26 season pass gets you passholder-only weekends and on the slopes for the remainder of this season.
