Professional Freestyle Skier Henrik Harlaut Overshoots Landing and Suffers Serious Hip Injury

Swedish freestyle skier Henrik Harlaut dislocated his hip after overshot a landing while training on an airbag. The accident happened on Saturday, August 23, in Klรคppen, Sweden.

Harlaut was rushed to the hospital by paramedics. There, his hip was put back in place and he was rereleased.Took a heavy slam yesterday and dislocated my (…) Crazy sensation having the lower body twisted and disconnected with the upper,” Harlaut wroteย in an Instagram post.

It is not certain how long the recovery from this injury is going to take, however, he claimed that he is already feeling much better and that he’sready to griiiind, booozt up and get back on my skis again whenever itโ€™s ready!”ย Other pro skiers like Markus Eder or Tom Wallish commented on his Instagram post, wishing him a speedy recovery.Noooo Henrik! wishing a super speedy recovery!!” Eder wrote in a comment.

Dislocated hips can take up to three months to heal and patients should avoid moving the hip in the first three to four weeks.

Henrik Harlaut is a 34-year-old professional skier from Are, Sweden. He’s known for his success in the X-Games competitions.ย Harlaut has also appeared in multiple different ski movies like SALUTE or BRUSHINO which is his latest street skiing edit. He has won eight Winter X-Games gold medals six of which he won in the big air competition and one in both the slopestyle competition and the knuckle huck competition. He also won bronze in the 2022 Winter Olympics.ย 

Harlaut is known for his innovative skiing style and his baggy clothes which are sold by his clothing shop called Harlautย Apparel.

The skier suffered and pushed through an injury once before in 2016. He injured his knee but continued skiing in numerous competitions like the X Games until 2019 when he decided to undergo surgery.

It seems like Harlaut wants to push through an injury once again to be ready for this year’s freestyle season.ย It is however not clear when his hip will be healed again.
