Purgatory Resort, CO, Extends Hours for Sunset Shred Mountain Biking Sessions

Just because ski season is over does not mean that there are not plenty of great activities to do on the mountain. Resorts offer several activities and events throughout the offseason which will keep you going to the mountain for fun. As summer kicks into full gear, Purgatory Resort in Colorado is sharing a new offering at its bike park.

Starting this July, Purgatory will host theย Sunset Shred sessions exclusively on Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., giving mountain bikers more time to explore some of Coloradoโ€™s best gravity flow trails.ย Purgatory’s bike park is renowned for its wide range of trails catering to all skill levels and serves as a gateway to over 400 miles of high alpine singletrack and backcountry trails in the San Juan Mountains.

Purgatory’s bike park features a wide range of trails suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to competitive riders. The park serves as the gateway to more than 400 miles of high alpine singletrack and backcountry trails in the San Juan Mountains.

The Sunset Shred sessions are offered at a special rate, providing exceptional value during these exclusive Friday evenings. For $25, participants will receive three hours of lift-served mountain bike access from 4 pm to 7 pm, an offer equivalent to a half-day ticket, normally priced at $39.

The Sunset Shred sessions represent Purgatory’s commitment to enhancing the guest experience and making mountain biking more accessible. Notably, children aged 12 and under can take advantage of free unlimited mountain bike uplifts with the Power Kids pass, the only season pass in North America offering unlimited free skiing and mountain bike uplifts for kids, with no purchase necessary or blackout dates.

Sunset Shred Dates:

  • Friday, July 5, from 4 pm – 7 pm
  • Friday, July 12, from 4 pm – 7 pm
  • Friday, July 19, from 4 pm – 7 pm
  • Friday, July 26, from 4 pm – 7 pm

Regular daily lift-served access will continue from 10 am to 5 pm until August 18, followed by weekend operations, from August 23 โ€“ October 6 (Fridays through Sundays).
